Our conference theme this year is “Aia Ka Ikaika O Ke Koa I Kona a‘a” which means “The
strength of the Koa tree is in its roots.” The nurturing of new firefighters is vital to the core
strength of the department as a whole. A strong organization must provide for those starting in
the service of their community.
